Puppy Pre-school

More than just tricks and manners, Puppy Pre-school is a vital part of your puppy's social and emotional development.

There are many benefits to teaching your puppy to be well-behaved at an early age. Young puppies are quite able to learn obedience skills, toileting behaviour and social boundaries. All of these things help make your relationship with your dog more rewarding for the years to come.

We offer on-site puppy classes thanks to our partnership with Julie Tolliday of Barkers in Balance.

Puppy Pre-school is not just about teaching your pup to sit and shake hands. Puppy pre-school is about:

  • Setting your puppy up for success in their lives by introducing them to new people, dogs, sounds, smells and experiences in a safe and controlled way.
  • Developing strong bonds between you and your puppy.
  • Educating you as to how you can help your pup grow and thrive physically and emotionally in the big wide world where life can be unpredictable.
  • Teaching your pup how to interact with other puppies and to learn to read other dogs' body language.
  • Providing a fun and positive experience in the vet clinic so that the puppies are happy to come and visit us!

Puppies can start puppy pre-school from any age between 8 and 18 weeks, as long as they have had their age-appropriate vaccinations. 8-12 weeks is the optimal time!
